SK defeat mTw, advance to the final

SK Gaming have defeated mTw in order to qualify for the Grand Final at the IEM6 Global Challenge New York.

The second semi-final saw a Scandinavian battle, with SK Gaming taking on mTw, in a match to determine who will play the Grand Final against WinFakt tomorrow.

The match started on de_forge, which turned out to be a very one sided affair. SK started on the CT side and nothing really went in favor of the Danes, with SK locking it down 13-2 at half time. SK started out by winning the pistol round in the second half, then taking another two rounds to secure the win on first map. Second map, de_nuke, was far more entertaining. SK once again started on the CT side, and once again had a big lead at half time, this time 12-3. The Danes were able to retaliate in the second half and brought the game tied score at 13-13 and in the end were able to clinch another three rounds to win 16-14 and force a third and final map.

The match was settled on de_train, with SK once again starting on the CT side, this time Marcus "Delpan" Larsson locked it down for the Swedes, who had a 13-2 lead at half time. SK claimed the pistol round in the second half, but mTw managed to win the second round, which gave them an additional lifeline. mTw fought well to make their way into the match, but SK shut them down once they got the economy back up, winning 16-9 and 2-1 overall.

SK will in the Grand Final face off against WinFakt, both teams have already secured a spot at the IEM6 World Championship next year. The winner of the final will go home with a $16,000 cheque, while the runners-up will have to do with $8,000. The Grand Final is scheduled to start at 16:00 , which is the same time as the third place decider, seeing mTw take on UMX.us.
